As part of our formal partnership with Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals (DBTH) five of our Year 13 students were chosen to take part in a ‘PLACE’ panel, the system for assessing the quality of patient environment.
They were part of a team assessing criteria such as privacy and dignity, food, cleanliness and general building maintenance. These assessments take place every year and the results are published to help drive improvements in the care environment. The results show how hospitals are performing both nationally and in relation to other hospitals providing similar services.
All five students enjoyed their day at the hospital and welcomed the opportunity to undertake this valuable work experience and be involved in such an important process in improving the care environment.
We are extremely proud to be formally launching our ‘Foundation School in Health’ status next week, which will ensure our students’ career aspirations are heightened and develop opportunities for our pupils, not only in the Health and Care sector but to all the many different occupational pathways within the NHS.
