Visit our academy

Our summer open evening is on Thursday 27 June 2019, 6-8pm, and offers you an opportunity to visit our thriving academy before you make the all-important decision of applying for your child’s secondary school, or taking the next step into further education.

You will be free to explore the academy, view our stunning facilities, take a guided tour with a student ambassador and participate in a number of hands-on activities. Prospective A Level students and their families will also be able to get a flavour of our new sixth form provision, which is delivered in conjunction with Tuxford Academy.

Our staff and academy leaders will be available throughout the evening, so you can discover more about our exemplary provision and talk to us about the application process.

If you can’t make it this time, we operate an open door policy so parents and children are welcome to tour the academy during term time, all year round.

Applying for a place

Nottinghamshire County Council administers our admissions process and entry is based upon our admissions criteria.

If you are offered a place

You will receive your offer of a place at Retford Oaks Academy on 1 March, which you will need to accept or refuse as quickly as possible to help us avoid delays in the registration process. You will then receive a transition pack in the summer term, which will give you all the information you will need about the move to Retford Oaks.
