Cars and bicycles
For parents wishing to drop off and pick up students in cars or taxis, we have a visitor’s car park. This car park is located on the right immediately upon entering the academy site, before the access gate and pedestrian crossing. This is a very busy area of the academy at the start and end of the day, and we therefore urge all drivers to enter and leave the site with extreme caution.
On entering the drop off car park, please use the bays provided so that students can be dropped off safely. Please do not drop students off at the side of the fence (marked with double yellow lines) as this causes an obstruction to traffic and creates a dangerous situation with student having to walk between stopped cars to enter the academy. Your co-operation with this is much appreciated.
Sixth form students have a dedicated car parking area and are able to bring their cars onto site as long as the academy is presented with copies of a relevant MOT, driving licence and insurance certificates and that students maintain suitable driving standards on and around the academy site.
Students are allowed to bring bicycles to the academy, providing they are roadworthy and can be locked. Unfortunately, we cannot accept any responsibility for bicycles.
We encourage all students who cycle to the academy to wear a cycle helmet and not to cycle two or more abreast, taking extreme care when cycling to and from the academy. All students should walk their bicycles across the zebra crossing at the front of the academy.
