On 12 December 2022 Retford Oaks Academy was presented with the Young Carers School Award 2023 by Mr Andy Tomkins of the Nottinghamshire Carers Association.
We are the first school in Bassetlaw to be presented with the award which celebrates the support given to young carers.
Mr Cooper, Vice Principal, Mrs West, Assistant Principal, and Finnlay H, a year 10 student and young carer were all in attendance for the presentation.
Mr Cooper said “We are very proud and very pleased to accept this award acknowledging and celebrating all the hard work our academy and young carers put in every day.”
The award with be displayed in the academy’s main reception for all visitors to see.
