Merry Christmas everyone! To celebrate the last day of term before the Christmas holidays we surprised our students with a Christmas extravaganza performance as they entered the academy this morning.
Students were greeted with the vocal talents of Ms Clarke and Mrs Wood as they performed a variety of Christmas tunes, while members of the Create and Expressive Arts team danced as cheerleaders, with Mrs Simpson walking on stilts.
A special performance was even given by Mr Hardeman as he took the microphone and donned a red santa hat with a very distinguished matching waistcoat.
The extravaganza formed part of our collection efforts for Save The Children’s Christmas Jumper Day, alongside donations of food and toiletries for Bassetlaw foodbank.
We’ve had amazing feedback from the extravaganza, with comments online such as “10 out of 10 Retford Oaks for festive music this morning, can hear it all around Retford. Got us very excited for the last day of school and for the festive season to begin.”
Thank you to everyone that donated, we hope you enjoyed the show!
