On Tuesday 15 November we held our first Forensic Showcase. The showcase was made up of 6 different research projects that our forensic club students had been working hard on since June.

The topic of the showcase was ‘decomposition’ and students used a wide variety of methods to research, carry out and record their experiments. The projects were then displayed and explained to staff, students and parents/carers, with an extra-special virtual visit from Dr Matteo Borrini, of Liverpool John Moore’s University

Dr Borrini spoke to all the students and gave valuable feedback to the students on their projects. During our award ceremony, he awarded Ellie S, Milla C, Ellie May B, Willow B and Ruby S the prize for the Best Academic Research Project.

Dr Borrini then awarded the runner up prize to Harrison N, Jacob M and Evie A.

Mr Dickinson and Mr Cooper also visited the showcase and reported that they “loved hearing from our students about all their projects and the hard work they have put into them during these past 6 months.”

An additional ‘principal’s choice award’ was given out during the award ceremony, with the chosen group consisting of Hafsa H, James S, Katy W, Izzy B and Matt W.

Prizes included certificates and medals, bars of chocolate, books by Michael Morpurgo, along with trampoline park vouchers, kindly donated by Flip Out Doncaster.
