11 March 2019 marked the start of British Science Week.
On Monday, year 10 students tested the tensile strength of their own welding in the morning and programmed robots in the afternoon. Their focus and engagement were exemplary.
On Tuesday, sixth form biologists had a masterclass in molecular biology, carrying out a range of DNA-related procedures. Meanwhile, a large group of year 7 and 8 students competed all day in the Fantastixx challenge.
On Thursday, year 7 students worked hard against the clock in an ‘Escape the Lab’ challenge at Sheffield Hallam University. Students had to break codes, unlock padlocks and even re-wire explosives. Thankfully, they escaped in record time!
