Hello! We are the Fabulous Baker Boys! – a group of year 13 students studying at Retford Oaks sixth form. Our group consists of seven members: Thomas, Tommy, Harry, Henry, Matt, Dom, and Oliver.
Our group began as a friendly weekly baking competition, where one of us would bring to school a homemade bake each week and the rest of us would rate it out of 10. During one of these weekly sessions, we decided that we all wanted to make a positive contribution to society and could perhaps do this by baking some of our favourite items and selling them to raise money for a good cause. We had a discussion about what charity we would like the funds to go to and during this discussion one of our group, Henry, shared with us the fact that since birth he has had a heart condition that has required a number of surgeries over the years. Hearing his story really inspired us to raise some money for British Heart Foundation.

We are aiming to raise £1,000 through a number of planned events over the coming weeks with our first event being held on Sunday 23 November at the Christmas light switch-on in Retford Market Square.
We will be outside The British Heart Foundation shop selling homemade bakes and cakes from 10.30am onwards. It would be great if you could come along to the event and show your support by buying some of our delicious products.
Our group has embraced three core values, integrity, ambition and teamwork, and we have all put in lots of our own time and effort to ensure that we reach our ambitious target.
We are incredibly grateful and thankful to East Retford Asda who have kindly provided us with free baking ingredients in support of our efforts.
We would love to see as many of you as possible at the event, however, if you can’t make it but would still like to support us please donate on our Just Giving page.
