Today we’re proud to celebrate the achievements and aspirations of two of our fantastic year 12 students, Evelyn and Taygan.

During the programme, students develop confidence, teamwork, professional behaviour and communication skills, as well as gaining insight into the role, values and responsibilities of a doctor, including patient safety and quality of care.

To secure her place, Evelyn completed a detailed personal statement showcasing her dedication to a future career in science and medicine. The programme, led by GPs, medical school clinicians and medical students, includes virtual mentoring and workshops alongside a two-day placement at partner GP medical centres.

“I’m really looking forward to it, it’s going to be so valuable – the first workshop is on Friday,” Evelyn said.

Alongside her is Taygan, who studies English, EPQ and sports studies. Taygan is keen to further develop her interest in biology, potentially progressing into a veterinary career in the future – another inspiring pathway within science.

On International Women and Girls in Science Day, we are incredibly proud to celebrate young women who are ambitious, determined and excited about their futures in science.
