Yesterday our Year 11 and year 13 students had a fantastic opportunity to look ahead and explore the wide range of exciting pathways available to them at the North Notts BID What Next? event. The atmosphere was buzzing as students moved between stands, chatted to industry professionals, and discovered career routes they may never have considered before.

One of the highlights of the day was the chance to learn more about apprenticeships and future careers within some incredible organisations. Our students were particularly inspired by conversations with representatives from the National Trust, the NHS, and the UK Atomic Energy Authority, each offering a unique insight into their industries and the skills young people will need to succeed in them. The breadth of employers and training providers on show helped students see just how many options are open to them beyond their GCSEs and sixth form studies.

A special highlight for our sixth form boys was meeting Liam Palmer from Sheffield Wednesday, who attended the event as a guest. They were absolutely thrilled to chat with him, and his encouragement and enthusiasm made the experience even more memorable.

Overall, the event was a brilliant chance for our young people to gather information, ask questions, and begin shaping their next steps with confidence. We’re incredibly proud of the maturity and curiosity they showed throughout the day, and we can’t wait to see where their ambitions take them.
