Admissions Policy

Retford Oaks Academy is a warm and welcoming school, dedicated to delivering excellence in education.

We accept applications from students from a wide catchment area each year. Nottinghamshire County Council continues to administer the admissions process for the Academy and entry is still based upon the following admissions priority criteria:

  • Looked After Children (and previously looked after children)
  • Children who have a sibling attending Retford Oaks Academy (at the time of admission)
  • Children who attend a ‘Retford Oaks Family’ Primary School (see Family of Schools link)
  • Other Children (preference being given to those living closest ‘as the crow flies’)

Should an application be unsuccessful, parents have a right to appeal for a place at any school (including Academies and free schools). Details of how to do this and the form required is below:
